WElcomE in,
I hope you've been enjoying the scenery.
As you probably noticed, I have an interest in many things. From people, to plants, to pets, to alliteration and writing all about the thoughts that swirl around in my mind. Creativity has come naturally to me ever since I could finger paint in preschool. Since then, I've won awards for my abilities and have kept my artistic muscles flexing well into my adulthood.
With photography having been my first love, I developed an acute awareness of the importance of composition. This skill helped me to come alive in college while taking sculpture classes, and later on as a self-taught graphic designer at a major tech company. After 4 years wildling away at a keyboard, the strain of sitting for long periods of time weighed on my Energizer-Bunny™esqué disposition so I pivoted away from the confines of a computer screen and set my sights toward a new creative career path—
Floristry.
Floral design has been my exhale; the type of work that hasn't really felt like work. To say working with flowers has been healing would be an understatement; floral design has given me back my sanity. It has allowed me to slow down and embrace my background in sculpture while engaging all of my senses. It's been through this tactile way of creating, the sights and smells that have been the balm to my soul. And, fortunately, I have the privilege of sharing the gift of flowers with those that seek them: through curating weddings, and consulting with clients on one of the biggest days of their lives, I'm honored to participate in the big and small joys that allow us all to feel special.
My hope in life is to create beauty wherever I go, with whatever I touch, and with whomever I get to connect with. To me, life is meant to be shared, because in the sharing of space, of sharing art, and of sharing moments they're all memories that add up to the sum of our lives. Flowers are gestures, symbols of our love for one another, for ourselves, and for our planet. Nature has adorned itself in colors, fragrances, and textures, and is begging for us to share in its delight.
So why not, let the flowers speak for themselves, and enjoy what we create together.
Stay wild,
tREvOR JAck
